Beside the Sea

Hi all, here are this weeks DT cards for Kanban. My inspiration for this week has been the seaside. My hubby has been home for the last couple of weeks so we have taken the kids to the seaside a few times, when the weather has been nice of course !!!!

All the cards and projects have been made using the BESIDE THE SEA COLLECTION.

The first card has been made using Beside the Sea Papercraft Toppers 900294 and a bit of ribbon.

For this card, I made a base card from acetate, then added the toppers fro the Beside the Sea sheet 900294, and added some beach hut ribbon that I had.

Lastly I made a small box from acetate, fastened together with brads and then some ribbon wrapped round both the bottom and lid of the box. I then used some toppers from the Life's a Beach sheet 900298 and the Seashell Sentiment sheet 900300. I then just added some shells in for decoration.

Thanks xx

Great Britain Crafting

Hi all for my second post of the day. This post's theme is Great Britain !! On Saturday my daughter and I went to The Great British Craft Festival. Despite what a lot of people have said about it, we had a good time, the only time we queued was for the free goody bag, and then went we got it the Hunkydory staff were also kind enough to give Hannah one. Yes there were glitches and it was very hot and busy, but we still enjoyed it. Hannah's best moment was getting to meet the lovely Nigel May, he gave her his autograph and took the time to talk to her, which was really nice. Here is her picture with him.

The only thing that we were really disappointed with , especially Hannah , was the amount of crafters who thought nothing of pushing in front of her or banging into her, a few nice ones apologised but on the whole the others didn't, even when she was patiently waiting to get her autograph from Nigel, two ladies pushed in the queue in front of her. If she had done that she would have been told she was rude and had no manners. But this picture made her day.

Anyway after going to the festival I decided this weeks Kanban DT cards should be British , so I have made three from the COOL BRITANNIA collection.

Happy crafting xxxx

Happy Days

Good afternoon all, I've been having a play with some of the new Happy Days range from Docrafts , I had bought a paper pad, some of the bloomer flowers, embroidered brads and the bottle tops. The colours are great ranging from vibrant to subtle, with images of sewing and crafting to cars, so they suit anyone, although the cherry images are among my favourites.

The first project I made with the papers was some decorated pegs , which I then added a magnetic strip to, to turn them into fridge magnets.

The bottle tops and bloomers are all great and you can mix and match the colours.

Then I made an 8x8 card using the papers and some of the journaling notes and the brads and some bloomers from some of the other Docrafts range of colours.

I covered this card with four different papers and then did some faux stitching to join them all.

Core Cards Creative Frenzy

Good afternoon all , have had a bit of time to craft this week so here are a few of my cards.
The first card I have made has been made using Core'dinations card as both the base card and all the embellishments.

The torn paper and the flowers have been made using Tim Holtz & Ranger Distress Collection. To make the flowers I punched out six scalloped circles, before fastening them together with a brad, I scrunched them up and then sanded them down a bit. Then once I had fastened them together with a brad, I then scrunched them up again layer by layer so that the shape became like a flower bud, and then I slowly unpeeled them a bit to form a flower shape. I also tore the leaves from the cardstock and folded them over a bit to make lines like a vein, and then sanded them too. These were all adhered to a die cut scalloped circle, which was mounted onto a larger die cut scalloped circle. I added some torn and sanded cardstock to the left side, added a ribbon to the spine of the card and then finished off by stamping a sentiment onto opposite corners of the card.

This next card has been made using a Hunkydory kit, everything is die cut for you , it's just a case of deciding what you would like your layout to be.

The border that is on the inside of the card, was cut from the actual card base, I thought it would give it a bit more interest if it was added to the inside. Then I used a die cut cardstock ribbon which I added the sentiment on top of, I added the main image to the centre and then added the bunting which was mounted on foam pads with the string secured underneath.

The third card was a card I made for my mum, who wanted to give it to a friend.

I used a pre-scored base card, which I added a sentiment to. I took some pink card and stamped some Kanban roses on to it, which were then coloured with Pro Markers, then some ribbon was added to the side before mounting it onto another piece of card, and then mounted onto the base card. I then added a die cut butterfly to finish.
