Exciting news and post today

Hi all, at last I can reveal that I have been picked as a Design Team member for Kaboodle Doodles , this is an International Paper and Digital Crafting Challenge Blog, all the Design Team members are from different parts of the world, I will be adding a blog list today for all my fellow design team members.
This months sponsor is In 2 Stamps and challenge no130 is Birthday or any Special Day card. The challenge goes live every Monday.
Here is my card that I made to give you all some inspiration, it uses an image from the sponsor.

I printed off the image and coloured with Pro Markers, then mounted it onto Kraft card, and then some mirri card. I then mounted some pink daisy paper onto some Kraft card to go onto the base card. I also made a panel to go across the card which I wrapped some ribbon round, the image panel was then mounted onto this, then some gems added to the corners and some big flowers with a pink brad to match was added.

Hope this gives you some inspiration, and please pop over to the challenge blog to see all the lovely projects that my fellow design team members have created.

Guest Blogger Spot.

Hi everyone, I was lucky enough to be asked to do a
guest spot on the  Crafty Bloggers Network Blog , so
here it is.

I'm a stay at home mum of two children , Daniel 11 and Hannah who is 9.
Life in our house can be quite stressful at times, and not a lot of
sleep either. Daniel was diagnosed at 3 years old as being severely
Autistic. He goes to a special needs school which is really good.
Hannah also has some of the traits, so you can imagine the stress at
our house, hence one of the reasons I got into crafting.

I've always enjoyed making things since I was young, at one stage I
made beanbag frogs for friends ! .I got into card making maybe 6 or 7
years ago when I decided to make all our own Christmas cards and
basically it's gone from there. Crafting for me is a way to relax and
forget the stresses of the day, also I love being able to make cards
for friends and family and see the enjoyment on their face when they
see it's handmade.

Recently I have also been decorating wooden letters for kids names,
mine both have some and for Christmas I made 7 sets for nieces and

I have also decided to try and sell them and have had a stall at some
craft fairs. Trial and error but we'll see how it goes.

In April I was also lucky enough to be picked for the UK design Team
for  Kanban which I am really enjoying doing, and have made some great friends within the team.

I started my blog in  March of this year and through that and Facebook and the groups on there I have made loads of friends.

As to my style of cards, I'm not sure I have a particular style, I just
enjoy using anything and will give most things a go.

This month's challenge is "Anything Goes" so here is my card . I love
these stamps and thought I'd go for a red theme as they are Christmas

Thanks, and happy crafting

Christmas at the Seaside

Hello all, yes it's that time of the week for my Kanban DT cards again, and this week it's Christmas versus the Seaside !!! Think I'll show the Christmas ones first,I must admit I struggled at first with the idea of Christmas when we are only in July, but eventually I got there and am quite happy with the results.

This has been made using elements fro the All Wrapped Up Collection. For the base card I used a sheet of Merry Christmas-Gold 900381. I wrapped some ribbon to the left of the card and added a bow, then I took a topper from the Christmas Magic sheet 900099, and teamed it up with the matching Christmas Magic Acetate 900100, to create the domed effect, then I just adhered the frame first , then raised the topper with silicone glue. Adding a sentiment from the sheet to finish.

Again the next card has been made using the All Wrapped Up Collection.

For this card , the base card is a sheet of Festive Holly-Blue CRD1052, then I took one of the adhesive borders from the Christmas Border Adhesive sheet 900105, and create a ruffled effect with part of it and then stuck the rest down flat so I could add the sentiment to it. I took two fancy frames from the kit and adhered them at angles, before adding the frame from the Winter Wonders sheet 900111, for the actual topper I added some Christmas Decoupage 900101, to the main image before again teaming it up with the matching Winter Wonders Acetate 900112 and again creating the domed effect.

Now after the Christmas comes the Seaside !! The next cards are made with the Beside The Sea Collection.

This first card is quite a bright and busy card with lots to look at. To a plain base card I added strips of card from several sheets, Sunny Seaside Days 900316, Seaside Stripes 900318, Sea of Shells 900317, and Sunny Seaside Days 900323. I drew faux stitching around the edge on also on the panels so that they look like they have been sewn together. I took a topper from the Beach Huts and Boats sheet 900299, which was then mounted onto some silver mirri that I had first wrapped with string, and then to finish off a sentiment and a shell from the Seashell Sentiment sheet 900300.

Lastly another Beach card again from the Beside The Sea Collection.

For this I used a sheet of Natural Felt Card 900322 and added a border to the side from the Coastline Borders sheet 900296, and then just simply added some toppers from the Life's a Beach topper sheet 900298.

So there we are Summer and Winter all in one go.

Lots of Layers and a bit of Stitching

Lots of Layers and a bit of Stitching is the challenge for the Design Team call over at Inky Impressions  so here is my entry

I have layered up some papers onto the base card and done some "faux" stitching with a black pen, which I think looks very effective, then added some toppers and some stamped squares. And then to finish I stamped and coloured a flower with Pro Markers is matching colours.

Time for Tea !!

Good afternoon everyone , hope you all had a good weekend. I am going to spend tomorrow catching up on all you lovely blogs, so that will keep me busy.
Here are this weeks Kanban DT cards, I went for fun and simple this week.
First up is the "Fun " one.

For this card I have used The Cool Britannia Range.

This has been made using a pearlescent base card, Glitzed Union Jack card CRD1779, Cool Britannia Tea Toppers 900169 and Celebration Cupcake Toppers 900170. All I have done with this card is to cut an aperture in the Glitzed card and attach the centre to the base card, and then made some little concertina's out of card to make the frame stand forward. And then decorated.

The next card is a nice and simple card to make and is a good card if you need to make it quickly.

This card has been made with a Kanban Shaped Aperture card, Meadow frames-Lilac PCT2355 and the butterflies are from the Victoriana Embellishment sheet PCT1912.

70 and pink.

Good afternoon all, just thought I would do a quick blog post today. I had my stall at the weekend and a friend bought several cards from me and asked me to make a 7oth birthday card for a friend of hers. And here is the finished card.

This has been made with the Spring Elegance kit  from Hunkydory and I just added some sparkly butterflies that I had. The front of the card is domed shaped . Hope the lady that receives it likes it.

Butteflies and Gentlemen

Morning all, can't believe the weekend has shot by so quick, spent Friday night at a local school fete with a craft stall, but not many people turned up, so a bit of a washout, then spent all Saturday at a craft fair with my stall again, it was part of a local Street Scene festival, lots of people about but not many buying !
Anyway, it's Monday again so it's Kanban time again.

The first card I have made is a pretty pastel coloured card .

For this card I used an 8x8 base card, then covered it with cream card. I took a Kanban shaped card and cut it in half, I then stamped the Rose STAMP04 on to it, I then cut an oval from the cream card and stamped the rose again, and adhered on to the bottom panel. Next using some paper from The Bloomsbury Collection pad, I stamped the rose again but just cut out the flower heads, and stuck them onto the main stamped rose. Using the same paper I added some corners to the cream card, and die cut three butterflies, adding bling to the centre of them and also on the shaped card. Finally I added some ribbon and stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the card.

The second card is one for the men. This is a simple easel card.

I used cream card for the base card and covered the bottom and the panel that fits on the top piece of the easel with Vintage Time-Cream card CRD1437. The top panel I mounted onto Copper mirri card, and also added a strip onto the front of the panel and also the base where the sentiment would go as a stopper. The main topper is from the Copperfield sheet PCT2120, and also the sentiment. The topper I raised up with foam pads, and the sentiment was added after adding another small strip of the Time card to the stopper area.
